Welcome to Feature Friday, where every Friday we feature your crafts and projects!
Hi guys! This week our Feature Friday comes from Shannon Naylor! Shannon has been crafting for over two years and has found her passion for crafting wine bottles. She loves going outside of the box with her creations, making each wine bottle one of a kind. You can find more of Shannon’s creations on her Facebook page: Busy Bee Workshop.
Decoupage Christmas Wine Bottle Scene
Using a reverse decoupage technique Shannon is able to create a 3D Christmas Scene. She used Modge Podge to apply the Cardinal picture to the back of the bottle, with the picture side against the glass. Next, Shannon cut an oval stencil with her Cricut and applied it to the front of the bottle creating a picture window. Pretty clever!
The rest of the bottle is painted with two coats of a Matte Acrylic in white. The paint is sealed with Modge Podge that has fine gold glitter mixed in. This gives it a nice festive sparkle.
My favorite feature is the Miniature Christmas Trees and snow on the inside. Shannon put a dab of hot glue on the bottom of the trees and uses a pickup tool to place them inside of the bottle. She funneled in a little fake snow to complete the look.
The bottle is finished off with some festive ribbon framing the picture window, and Christmas Ribbon around the neck. Jute twine and a little Christmas floral are hot glued on for the final embellishments.
I think Shannon’s Decoupage Christmas Bottle turned out fantastic! We hope you are inspired by her creation in your own crafting journey! If you would like to be in our next Feature Friday post, please send your details and one to two pictures to chris @ diwhyprojects dot com or Contact Us.
